The paper rethinks the narratives surrounding Czech (post)socialist Do-It-Yourself material culture (DIY) which is conceptualised as „vernacular art“. Vernacular art is defined as a multi-layered concept, which represents social, cultural and political dis/continuities of (socialist) past as well as reflects wider contemporary relationship through time, space, creative and affective dimensions.
