A monograph of architect Vlastislav Hofman (1884 - 1964), a leading author of the unique phenomenon of Czech architectonic cubism, deals with all areas of his artistic activities. It presents him not only as an architect, city planner, world-renowned stage designer and an outstanding designer of applied arts, but also as a painter, graphic artist, illustrator, theoretician and co-author of bridges. It also monitors his activities in the Group of Artists and his active part in the establishment of the Tvrdošíjní group, with which he exhibited at all its displays both at home and abroad. For the first time, the author perceives Hofman's work as a whole, and in mutual relationships between disciplines in which Hofman was active places his work in the European context. The richly illustrated book contains a list of the artist's books supplemented with a selection of nine important theoretical studies

Monografie Architekta Vlastislava Hofmana (1884 - 1964), předního tvůrce jedinečného fenoménu českého architektonického kubismu, se zabývá všemi oblastmi jeho umělecké činnosti. Představuje jej nejen jako architekta, urbanistu, světoznámého scénografa avýrazného designéra užitého umění, ale také jako malíře, grafika, ilustrátora, teoretika a spolutvůrce mostů. Sleduje také jeho aktivitu ve Skupině výtvarných umělců a iniciativní podíl na založení skupiny Tvrdošíjní, s níž vystavoval na všech jejích domácích a zahraničních akcích. Poprvé uchopuje jeho tvorbu v jistém celku a ve vzájemné provázanosti oborů, v nichž se Hofman uplatňoval, zasazuje jeho dílo do evropského kontextu. Součástí bohatě ilustrované publikace je soupis umělcovy publikační činnosti doplněný výběrem devíti významných teoretických studií
