Original language description

The study deals with the role of Caravaggio in the Czech discourse on Cubism. Emil Filla mentions Caravaggio´s name at the beginning of his article "Holandské zátiší" [Dutch Still Life] (1916), published in the Volné směry magazine (XXII, 1924-1925), describing him as the founder of the original genre of still life. In 1925, Filla published a study Caravaggio´s mission, also in Volné směry. The art historian Vincenc Kramář followed Filla with a study called "The Creation and Character of Modern Still Life". The arranged photographic still lives by Josef Sudek as a tribute to Caravaggio in 1956, created after Filla´s death (1953), can be understood as a recollection of Peruc and his friend Filla, as well as of Caravaggio´s role in Filla´s theory.

Czech description

Studie se zabývá rolí Caravaggia v českém diskursu o kubismu. Emil Filla v článku Holandské zátiší (1916), publikovaném v časopise Volné směry (XXII, 1924-1925), v úvodu uvádí jméno Caravaggia, kterého chápe jako zakladatele svébytného žánru zátiší. V roce 1925 vydal Filla rovněž ve Volných směrech studii Caravaggiovo poslání. Na Fillu navázal historik umění Vincenc Kramář statí Vznik a povaha moderního zátiší. Fotografická aranžovaná zátiší Josefa Sudka na počest Caravaggia z roku 1956, vytvořená až poFillově smrti (1953), lze chápat jako vzpomínky na Peruc a přítele Fillu i na roli Caravaggia ve Fillově teorii.
