The article provides a detailed comparison between the St. Wenceslas cycle situated the Palace of Albrecht von Wallenstein in Prague, painted around 1623?24 by Baccio del Bianco in the chapel of the Palace, and an early renaissance cycle of a life of thesaint situated in the Cathedral of St. Vitus in Prague. The text emphasizes Wallenstein´s interest in the renovation of an ancient church of St. Wenceslas located near the palace, vera effigies of saint Wenceslas which was displayed there and the role of the painter Matyáš Mayer who worked in the church as well as in the Cathedral. The article describes also a context of the fact that Wallenstein dedicated his private chapel to the principal patron saint of the Czech lands.
