The first part of the workshop series on photo albums as a specific form of visual representation of crisis events of both individuals and larger societies. Apart from round-table discussions, the programme comprised a lecture on photo albums in East Germany in the 1970s–1980s given by Friedrich Tiejen (Leipzig). The lecture was followed by a presentation of selected photographs from the IAH CAS collection, a round-table discussion and two study visits to local memory institutions (Jewish Museum and Security Services Archive in Prague).
