Preserving Memory. Holocaust Monuments and Memorials in Central Europe.
Original language description
The conference focused on expert evaluation of the topic of Holocaust monuments and memorials in Central Europe. The aim of the meeting was to present both the historical and art-science circumstances of the creation of these often neglected works, as well as their theoretical starting points, as well as the subsequent reception of Holocaust monuments and memorials. In the broader social and cultural context, we were interested in the problem of the formation of Jewish and Roma identity, as well as the topic of individual, collective and cultural memory of the tragedy of the Holocaust and their projection into concrete monument realizations.
