    Ischaemic heart disease, stroke, lower respiratory infections and chronic obstructive lung disease remained the top causes of mobidity and mortality during the past decade (1). Despite the improvement in the acute treatment options, the stroke mortality is estimated more than 20% and the numbers of disabled people reach almost 30%. The incidence of cerebrovascular accidents range between 185-300/100 000 in high-income countries. The prevalence is increasing with age (2), rates increased from approximately 5 000/100 000 in subjects aged less than 75 years to 10 000 or more per 100 000 in those aged 80+(3).The cost of treatment and social services after stroke in the United States exceeds $ 43 billion annually (4), the cost of stroke in EU are estimated of €5000 – 30 000 per patient during the first year after the accident (3).More than 80% of accidents of cerebrovascular disease events are ischemic stroke, the haemorrhagic attacks occur only in 20%.
