Methods in Tissue Engineering in Vitro
Original language description
In vitro methods are basically the first step while testing new materials or drugs. The main advantage is the speed of whole process, the ability to perform testing with a small number of cells and the reduction of tests on animals. On the other hand we are not able to predict the answer of the organism on the basic of in vitro testing, so in the next step, in vivo tests are necessary. This chapter describes the methods which are widely used during in vitro testing of materials for tissue engineering.
