Burn wound coverage and burn wound closure.
Original language description
Early excision and grafting changed dramatically topical wound treatment, but are restricted by limited donor sites. In addition to the extent of burn and the age of patient the depth is determinant of mortality and patients quality of life.To prevent conversion of deep dermal burns into full thickness skin loss, the wound may be treated by tangential excision and 'upside-down' application of recombined human/pig skin, composed of human keratinocytes cultured on pig dermis.
