Literary work as a leisure activity: Amateur literary forums on the Czech internet
Original language description
The aim of the chapter is to analyse the transformation in literary culture produced by the new opportunities for publishing offered by web 2.0. The author’s intention is to test the hypothesis that with the advent of open publishing platforms the social status and function of literature and its creators has begun to change – literature is starting to be presented and perceived as the result of leisure activity with a primarily relaxational or autotherapeutic function. The chapter include a case study on “literary servers” many of which function on the Czech internet as popular publishing platforms for literary amateurs.
