Original language description
The paper deals with two issues concerning staging of biblical plays in early modern era. It is generally assumed that these plays were performed on stage by students of Latin schools or townsfolk. However, the question arises whether we have sufficient evidence to claim that the plays were actually staged. Can it be stage directions that provide us with such evidence? And what can they tell us about the shape of the stage and staging method at that time?
