Pavlivka Iodine Spring Water: Transnational Entrepreneurship in Post-Transition Contexts
Original language description
The authors focus on a group of immigrants to the Czech Republic who resettle from the Ukraine in 1991. The core of the text is a case study that deals with a university educated family and their entrepreneurial activities in the Czech Republic and Ukraine. It is an illustration of transnational trade activities which, on the one hand, cross the borders of the state and the European Union and, on the other, indicate the limits of a small supranational business in the Central and East European region. The case study demonstrates not only how hard it is to implement a business plan considering the difficulties of orientation in a new local discourse, but also how hard it is to penetrate the Czech market with a new idea.
