František Pospíšil’s phonographic recordings from today’s perspective

  • Original language description

The text deals with the context of the creation of phonographic recordings of folk songs, which were acquired by ethnologist František Pospíšil as part of fieldwork in the Slovácko and the Haná regions in 1910, carried out for the Austrian Academy of Sciences. Pospíšil was one of the first scholars who used a phonograph to record folk singing. The author evaluates the quality of audio documents and their description, as well as the folksongs itself.
