Children´s spontaneous prayers
Original language description
The contribution presents the texts of the children´s prayers which were drawn from the book Dear God, Children´s letters to God, David Heller, New York, 1987. The authors analyse some of the prayers from the book, focus on the linguistic aspects of these prayers and their common features. The article considers also the question of what characteristics a prayer should have in order to belong among the category of prayers. Although it is difficult to decide this fact because the borders of a prayer lie beyond human recognition, the authors find the prayers spontaneous and sincere, truly reflecting the inner life of children. This is the reason why these examples were presented as real prayers.
