Der Beitrag widmet sich der Sammlung der illuminierten Sammelablässe aus dem Stadtarchiv Mühlhausen. Die sieben Ablässe von 1343 bis 1471 wurden in Avignon und Rom ausgestellt und in den dortigen Werkstätten, bzw. bei dem Empfänger illuminiert. Die Autoren untersuchen die gattungsspezifischen, lokalhistorischen und kunstgeschichtlichen Aspekte dieser Urkunden.
