Translation Choices for the Latin Adnominal Genitive in the Old Czech Psalters
Original language description
The study deals with the translation choices of the Latin adnominal genitive in Old Czech psalters. Based on an analysis of psalters from the 14th and 15th centuries, the author identifies various strategies influenced by individual translators and linguistic trends, taking into account the wider Slavic context. While the older psalters favoured congruent adjectival constructions, the younger ones leaned towards the adnominal genitive, reflecting the development of the Czech language and its relationship to Latin source texts.
