Tradiční pojetí Vánoc jako jedné z hlavních součástí křesťanského církevního roku představovalo pro komunistický režim v Československu ideologický problém. Studie se zabývá souvislostmi variací vánočního menu v letech 1950-70 a problémem Vánoc jako oslav "socialistického" konzumerismu.
