The Czech Republic. From democracy legitimization to the politics of memory

  • Original language description

The article surveys the last two decades of the ?politics of history in the Czech Republic after 1989. It makes a divide between two time periods, the first, when the "politics of coming to terms with the communist past" played an important role as a part of the new democracy legitimization, and the second, when distinct variants of "politics of memory" became tools of political struggle.
