Towards the „History of Meaning” of 1989
Original language description
A discussion piece in an organized debate about Philipp Ther’s book Europe since 1989. While appreciating highly the ground-braking monograph Kopeček argues that in order to understand the capitalist transformations in post1989 Eastern Europe, next to economic and social histories of the economic transformation, we need more „political histories of economic and social transformation,” to catch the experiences and their changing „meanings” by the actors.
