Czech Republic. Legal Professions Looking for Serenity and Stability
Original language description
The chapter in the collective monograph deals with the topic of the development of selected legal professions in the Czech Republic. Emphasis is placed primarily on the post-war period and the period of transformation in the 1990s. Attention is also paid to the following period up to the present. During the development after 1945, there were far-reaching changes in the legal professions not only in relation to their form and legal regulation, but also in relation to the number of members of the professions, in relation to the proportion of men and women - from the 1950s and 1960s women became in a large number of parts of the legal professions - and in relation to functions of individual professions, to degree of their prestige, but also to financial rewards. Dramatic changes in the legal professions, often associated with substantial changes in the large areas of legal regulation, have shown the considerable resilience of legal professionals.n
