States of emergency and COVID-19: Czech Republic
Original language description
The chapter describes the process of gradual constitutionalisation of rules on emergencies in the Czech constitutional order and, subsequently, outlines the principal states of emergency, as recognized in the Czech constitutional order, and their legal regime. Against this background, the recourse to emergencies during the Covid-19 pandemic is analysed, with a special regard to legal bases on which crisis measures were adopted and to their political and judicial review.
