    Sputter-deposited amorphous carbon coatings of high optical quality and very high radiation stability will be used as reflecting optical elements for free electron laser (FEL) applications in the vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) and soft x-ray spectral regions.Using the focused radiation (lambda=98 nm) of the VUV FEL at DESY the damage threshold of such coatings was determined to 0.07J/cm2

    Vrstvy naprášeného amorfního uhlíku vysoké kvality a velmi vysoké radiační stability budou využívány jako reflexní optické prvky pro lasery na volných elektronech pracující ve vakuovém ultrafialovém a měkkém rentgenovém oboru. Práh poškození takové vrstvy byl pro 98-nm fokusované záření VUV FEL na DESY stanoven v okolí 70 mJ/cm2.
