High-field magnetization of UCuGe single crystal
Result description
The hexagonal compound UCuGe an antiferromagnet with TN=48 K, exhibits in fields 38-45 T (at 4.2 K), applied along the c axis, a spin-flop transition to a state with a moment of 1.35 .mu..BETA./U. The magnetic susceptibility in fields applied along the basal plane is considerably higher than along the c axis but no transition occurs in fields up to 42 T applied along either the <100>or<120> axis.

Hexagonální antiferomagnetická sloučenina UCuGe s TN=48 K vykazuje v polích 38-45 T (při 4.2 K) aplikovaných podél c osy přechod spin-flop do stavu s momentem 1.35 .mu..BETA./U. Magnetická susceptibilita v polích v bazální rovině je značně vyšší než podél c osy, ale nedochází k žádnému přechodu ani v polích až 42T aplikovaných podél směru ať <100> nebo <120>.
