Luminiscence of the excitions and the role of anti-site defects, al well as the peculiarities of energy transfer to the Ce3+ activator ions were investigated in Lu3Al5O12:Ce compound. The measurements of timeresolved emission spectra and decay kinetics at 9K and 300 K under the excitation by synchroton radiation were used.
