Original language name
The effect of highly ionising particles on the CMS silicon strip tracker
Original language description
Inelastic nuclear collisions of hadrons generate many highly ionising particles whose energy deposit can momentarily saturate APV25 front-end redout chip of the silicon strip tracker resulting in a readout deadtime. Proposed change to reduce the APV25 sensitivity will have a negligible effect on the tracker physics performance.
Czech name
Vliv vysoce ionizujících částic na silikonový stripový dráhový detektor
Czech description
Nepružné jaderné interakce hadronu generují vysoce ionizujicí částice jejichž energie mohou dočasně nasytit APV25 čip pro sběr dat v silikonovém stripovém drahovém detektoru a tím způsobit dočasnou necitlivost ve sběru dat. Navrhovaná změna ke sníženi citlivosti APV25 čipu bude mít zanedbatelný vliv na fyzikální účinnost dráhového detektoru.
