The commonly used West and Yennie model applied to description of high energy elastic nucleon scattering will be criticaly examined and its deficiencies will be summarized. The preference of the more general approach based on eikonal model will be accented.

Czech description
Model Westa a Yennieho, který se obecně používá při popisu vysoko-energetického elastického rozptylu nukleonů, bude kriticky zhodocen a budou shrnuty jeho nedostatky. Bude zdůrazněna přednost obecnějšího modelu založeného na eikonálovém přístupu.
