TbPt0.7Cu0.3: A critical ferro-antiferromagnetic compound studied under pressure

Result description

We report the effects of pressure up to 8 kbar on the magnetic properties on the TbPt0.7Cu0.3 compound, which is precisely the critical composition between ferro and antiferromagnetic behaviour in the TbPt1-xCux series. The effect of pressure on the magnetization and susceptibility is quite small up to 8 kbar. Neutron diffraction experiments up to 42 kbar show appreciable effects on the magnetic structure where an increase of the magnetic periodicity in the incommensurate magnetic structure was observed.

    V práci jsou uvedeny výsledky studia vlivu tlaku na magnetické vlastnosti sloučeniny TbPt0.7Cu0.3, což je kritické složení mezi feromagnetickým a antiferomagnetickým chováním v rámci serie TbPt1-xCux. Vliv tlaku na magnetizaci a susceptibilitu je velmi malý za tlaku do 8 kbar. Neutronové difrakční experimenty provedené za tlaků do 42 kbar prokázaly výrazný vliv na magnetickou strukturu kde bylo pozorováno v nesouměřitelné magnetické struktuře prodloužení magnetické periodicity.
