Novel hockey-stick mesogens with the nematic, synclinic and anticlinic smectic C phase sequence
Original language description
New hockey-stick mesogens have been synthesized and their mesomorphic properties studied. The molecular structure consists of central naphthalene unit substituted in 2-position and prolonged be two asymmetric arms, both containing the ester units of identical orientation. The shorter arm possesses only one and the longer arm three benzene rings. The nematic, synclinic smectic C and anticlinic smectic C phases have been established and their physical properties studied. No banana type ordering producinga dipolar phases has been found.

Nové typy mezogenů s molekulami ve tvaru hokejky vykazující nematickou, synklinickou a antiklinickou fázi
