Original language description
A series of glasses with composition (100-x)[0.5ZnO-0.1B2O3-0.4P2O5]-xMoO3 (x<60) was investigated using NMR and Raman spectroscopy. Incorporation of molybdate groups into the parent glass results in a weakening of bond strength in the structural network, leading to a decrease in durability and glass transition temperature. This is due to depolymeration of phosphate chains and formation of P-O-Mo bonds.
