Magnetocaloric effect and spin reorientation transition in single-crystal Er2(Co0.4Fe0.6)17.
Original language description
Magnetic and magnetocaloric properties of single crystal Er2(Co0.4Fe0.6)17 were investigated. First order spin reorientation phase transition was observed at 272 K. Magnetic easy-axis anisotropy was found below this temperature and the easy-plane one above. Magnetocaloric effect accompanying field induced first order magnetic reorientation has been measured directly. It reaches -0.25 and 0.15 K, respectively, provided that the field is perpendicular to the easy-magnetization direction. These values weresatisfactorily compared with thermodynamic calculations.
