The bottlenecks in scintillation mechanism of complex oxides as BGO, PWO, CdWO and Ce(Pr)-doped Al perovskites, garnets and orthosilicates will be demonstrated. In several successful cases, such limiting, defect-based bottlenecks are substantially suppressed and scintillation performance improved.
