The alternative method of atomic iodine generation for a chemical oxygen iodine laser (COIL) by chemical process using gaseous reactants is investigated experimentally. The influence of the configuration of iodine atom injection into the laser cavity onthe efficiency of atomic iodine generation and small signal gain is studied.
