Infrared spectroscopy of nanoscopic epitaxial BaTiO3/SrTiO3 superlattices
Original language description
The infrared reflectivity measurements were performed on fully commensurate[(BaTiO3)8/(SrTiO3)4]50 and [(BaTiO3)8/(SrTiO3)4]40 superlattices. The infrared spectra were measured in two polarizations: along the c (long) axis and perpendicular to it on the(110) cut of the substrates. The infrared measurements enabled us to observe the lowest-energy phonon (soft mode) and extract its parameters and in that way to determine its and all polar phonons contributions to the dielectric function.
