The effect of different oxidative growth conditions on the scintillation properties of Ce:Gd3Al3Ga2O12 crystal
Original language description
Ce-doped Gd3Al3Ga2O12 (Ce:GAGG) single crystals were grown with different-oxygen concentration. Optical and scintillation properties of the samples were investigated. It was demonstrated that the optical properties, light yield and emission wavelength donot depend on the oxygen concentration in the growth atmosphere. On the other hand, scintillation decays of the crystal grown with an small oxygen concentration shows more intense slow component than the other crystals grown under atmosphere with higheroxygen concentration. This suggests that the suppression of the slow decay components can be related to the reduction of the oxygen vacancies concentration or stoichiometry improvement.
