Crystal growth and evaluation of scintillation properties of Eu and alkali-metal co-doped LiSrAlF6 single crystals for thermal neutron detector
Original language description
Na co-doping was found to improve the light output of Eu doped LiCaAlF6 for thermal neutron scintillator. Eu 2% and alkali metal 1% co-doped LiSrAlF6 crystals were grown by Micro-Pulling down method to understand the effect of alkali metal co-doping on scintillation properties and mechanism in Eu:LiSrAlF6. Especially, the light yield of K-codoped Eu:LiSAF reached as high as 33200 ph/neutron and outperformed the Eu only doped crystal by approximately 20 %.
