    Design and modeling of kW-class thin-disk lasers

    We present recent progress in development of high power directly diode pumped lasers based on the Yb:YAG thin-disk technology which are being constructed at the HiLASE project in the Czech Republic. Up to three laser chains, each delivering more than 1 Jin 1 ps pulse with 1 kHz repetition rate should be built until 2015.
