    A new one-dimensional coordination polymer of copper(I) iodide with the bidentate Schiff-base ligand N,N?-bis(4-dimethylamino- benzylidene)butane-1,4-diamine, (Me2N?ba)2bn, containing a flexible spacer (=N?C?C?C?C?N=) has been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, 13C and 1H NMR, FT-IR, and thermal analysis. Its molecular structure has been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction.
