From the systems Co(II) - L - C(CN)3(-)/N(CN)2(-) (L = 2,20-bipyridine (bpy) or 1,10-phenanthroline (phen)), two dicyanamide (dca, N(CN2(-)) and three tricyanomethanide (tcm, C(CN)3(-)) complexes, [Co(phen)2(dca)2] (1a, 1b) [Co(phen)2](tcm)2 (2), [{Co(phen)2(?1-tcm)}2(?1,5,5-tcm)]tcm.H2O (3), [Co(bpy)(?1,5-tcm)2]n (4) and [Co(bpy)(?1,5-dca)2]n (5), were isolated and characterized by X-ray crystallography, spectral and magnetic measurements. Their magnetic properties were studied, too.
