Spin and lattice vibrations of CaMn7O12 in the THz range
Result description
We studied meV-range excitations in the CaMn7O12 multiferroic which exhibits a high ferroelectric polarization. In infrared, THz and neutron scattering spectra, we observed spin waves far above the Neel temperature. We denote these as paraelectromagnons and explain their presence by strong short-range magnetic correlations.
