    Nonlocal torque operators in ab initio theory of the Gilbert damping in random ferromagnetic alloys

  • Original language description

    Nonlocal spin torque operators are introduced and employed in an ab initio theory of the Gilbert damping in random ferromagnetic alloys. The developed theory is implemented in the coherent potential approximation with proper inclusion of the vertex corrections. Illustrating applications for selected ferromagnetic systems indicate full equivalence with approaches based on local spin torque operators.
