Fluoride-metals nanostructured films fabricated by pulsed laser deposition with auxiliary electron beam evaporation
Original language description
Fluoride materials occupy an original and strategic position in modern optics. The fluorides exhibit unique optical features (low pohonon energy, high transparency in UV region, low refractive indices for infrared radiation) associated with the presenceof rare-earth (RE) ions, which make them excellent candidates for variety of Optoelectronics and photonics applications. One of the way how to enhance luminescence properties of Re3+ ions is using plasmonic behaviour of metallic nanoparticles (NPs). Mostof the plasmonic research has so far focused on ?classical materials Ag and Au. Beyond this noble metals however, other, less used metals exist, whose specific characteristic could significantly bring new functionalities. For example Al NPs yield an localised surface plasmon (LSP) resonance within the deep ultraviolet optical range and by tuning the size of the NPS the resonance frequency could be shifted up visible spectral range.
