Statistical forces from close-to-equilibrium media
Original language description
We analyze in detail the thermodynamic and statistical mechanical origin of a recent finding that the leading nonequilibrium correction to statistical forces from nonequilibrium media is directly related to their quasistatic energetics. The general theory and its possible applications are demonstrated via illustrative examples.
