Effects of Mg-codoping on luminescence and scintillation properties of Ce doped Lu3(Ga,Al)5O12 single crystals
Original language description
Effects of Mg co-doping on scintillation properties of Ce:Lu3(Ga,Al)5O12 (LGAG) were investigated. Mg 200 ppm co-doped Ce:LGAG single crystals were prepared by micro pulling down method. Absorption and radioluminescence spectra were measured together with several other scintillation characteristics, namely the scintillation decay and light yield to reveal the effect of Mg co-doping. Ce4+ charge transfer absorption was observed below 340 nm in Mg, Ce:LGAG which is in good agreement with previous reports for other garnet-based crystals. The scintillation decay time showed the tendency to be accelerated and the light yield was enhanced by Mg co-doping.n
