Optical control of Young's type double-slit interferometer for laser-induced electron emission from a nano-tip
Original language description
Electrons are particles, but they also have the characteristics of waves, which is the beauty and mystery of quantum mechanics. The wave nature of electrons is not only of fundamental interest for studying quantum phenomena but is also important in high-resolution electron microscopy8,9, scattering and imaging processes of high-resolution transmission microscopy, or electron holography that enables us to obtain vistas into the nanoscale world or even in the attosecond atomic realm.
