Original language description
Hydrogen-free a-C films prepared by dual beam pulsed laser deposition were examined by XPS and spep-by-step sputtered by Ar ion cluster beam. The top surface of the samples were enriched by oxygen bearing species. Carbon-bearing species located on the surfaces were mostly in sp3 hybridization, while beneath the surface the C sp2 hybridization dominated.
