Complex shearing of extruded tube (CSET) method for production of tubes with ultra-fine-grained structure
Original language description
A novel combined route for production of tubes by severe plastic deformation, called Complex Shearing of Extruded Tube (CSET), is introduced. This technique combines sequential extrusion and equal channel angular pressing accompanied by simultaneous friction-induced shearing. The effect of this new route on the microstructure of pure Al and an Al-Mn-Cu alloy is demonstrated which proves the capability of CSET technique to refine the grain size in both materials.
