Original language description
We report on the second harmonic generation (SHG) and the third harmonic generation (THG) from a 7 J Yb:YAG laser at 1030 nm, operating at 10 Hz repetition rate, using LBO crystals. An LBO crystal was used for SHG, achieving a high conversion efficiency of 74.5%, resulting in an output energy of 5.2 J at 515 nm. For THG, another LBO was employed, achieving a conversion efficiency of 56% and an output energy of 3.5 J at 343 nm. We measured the temperature and angular acceptance bandwidths of the LBO crystals for both SHG and THG in their respective phase matching planes, with results also validated by numerical simulations. Additionally, we assessed the long-term stability of both harmonic generation processes.
