Long-term changes in the persistence of atmospheric circulation over Europe since 1881 are studied using the Hess-Brezowsky classification of Grosswetterlagen. The most remarkable feature of the long-term variations is a general sharp increase from the 1970s to the late 1980s. The shift towards higher persistence is statistically significant in most groups of the circulation types and most seasons, and is confirmed by all the statistical tools.

Czech description
Dlouhodobé změny persistence atmosférické cirkulace nad Evropou jsou studovány od r. 1881 pomocí Hess-Brezowského klasifikace cirkulačních polí. Nejnápadnějším rysem dlouhodobého kolísání je výrazný nárůst od 70. let do konce 80. let 20. století. Tento posun směrem k vyšší persistenci je statisticky významný pro většinu skupin cirkulačních typů a ve většině sezón a potvrzují jej všechny statistické nástroje
