Observations of acoustic-gravity waves in the ionosphere generated by severe tropospheric weather
Original language description
The paper deals with observations of ionospheric effects, particularly of waves in the ionosphere that occurred during convective storm activity in the troposphere. Ionospheric high frequency continuous Doppler shift measurements were studied. We focusedon waves of periods 2-60 min. Ionospheric data were analysed together with geomagnetic data. It can in our opinion help to distinguish acoustic-gravity waves from ionospheric oscillations of geomagnetic origin. We discuss a possible influence of the reflection height of the sounding wave and the influence of active weather systems intensity on the observations.
