The influence of washout processes on dust concentrations in the air
Original language description
Ecosystems are greatly affected by dry deposition. Dry deposition is the deposition of air-borne dust from the atmosphere. Many authors have studied the chemical composition of air-borne dust, its particle size distribution and its influence on human health. The present study examines the content of dust in atmospheric precipitation. Attention is paid to the influence of liquid precipitation on the amount of dust in the atmosphere. This study is complemented by results from the project whose aim was toreview the contribution of one dust source to the dustiness of an entire area.
